It is well known that the influence of various adverse factors during certain critical periods could affect the normal development of the fetus and lead to the structural and functional remodelling of the circulatory bed, which increases the risk for the development of cardiovascular disorders in later life. This phenomenon is called “intrauterine programming of cardiovascular diseases”. The lecture will discuss the modifications that occur in the cardiovascular system of the fetus when the secretory activity of the thyroid gland or the synthesis of nitric oxide in the mother’s body is violated or when it the mother limited in food intake and manifested in the offspring both in early postnatal ontogenesis and in adulthood.
